Pecan Harvest

Nana, Cody, Belle, Thomas and I spent a Saturday morning picking up pecans. We have a large tree in the cattle pens that has tons of pecans. Everyone started out picking up very well except Thomas. He finally got the hang of it but could not stay hooked long. He just wanted to play with his dozer and tackle Cody. He did try and help Mady Belle with her bucket--he is very sweet to her. We had a fun day and picked up a lot of pecans.

Cody got tired of carrying his bucket around and started using his shirt.

Thomas gave up the hard work for a little play time with his toys.

Pumpkins and Scarecrows

Thomas, Brenda and I visited a pumpkin patch this week. It was quite fun. Sorry about the orange shirt--what was I thinking--well I was thinking cute, fall colors. I did not think about Thomas blending in so well with all of the pumpkins.

Enjoy!

Thomas sitting on the lap of Mr. Scarecrow--who was in a wheelbarrow. He is pointing to the school bus that was going down the road.

Here we are at the pumpkin patch.

Thomas and Brenda with another BIG scarecrow. That is one of his favorite things to say--BIG and he says it very loud.

Thomas trying to pet the baby sheep.

Thomas and Brenda petting the BIG turtle who was trying to eat a pumpkin.

Thomas wanted to take all of these pumpkins home with us but instead chose 5 baby pumpkins (on the hay bale) to go with the 5 he already has at home. He takes them out of the bowl counting as he goes--yes he can count to 5 in Spanish all by himself. He then carries them around to various places in the house. He insisted on falling asleep with one the other night. Next year we are planting our own pumpkins.

We really had a great time. We may take Bob back with us to get BIG pumpkins for our hay ride, wiener roast and pumpkin carving contest. This is the best time of year!!!

Catching up

It has been awhile since I posted anything new so I thought I would give an update. September really flew by although not much has been going on here. Bob continues to do repairs and fix'em up jobs around here and Thomas is a big help.
We went to a Weleetka football game to watch Ace play and Mariah march. They are the neighbor kids. We also went to McAlester for an adult night with Brenda and Doyle--our neighbors (parents of Ace and Mariah). We try to do that once a month or so. They also keep Thomas at least once a week. We are lucky to have them.
We went to Wetumka Sucker Day. There was a big parade and Thomas and Cody rode a pony and both enjoyed it a lot.

I guess we are some of the most boring people around but we like to hang out at home and enjoy our little boy and our happy home. We have also been riding Smart (the horse). Thomas will now ride alone with Bob leading him.
We are very excited about Halloween. We are planning a hay ride. Thomas loves the pumpkins and scarecrows.

Had to have a break and a juicy.

Thomas at Sucker Day. He loves the scarecrows and pumpkins.

Cody riding his pony--big fun.

Thomas is an old pro at this pony/horse riding. He threw a fit getting on it and threw one when it was time to get off because he did not want to get off.

Thomas riding Smart. He loves to ride Smart. He and Bob like to lope down the driveway.

Now isn't this a sight. Cow pajamas, water boots and shovel.
Thomas was helping Bob fix the panels in the pens. I guess it is never too early to learn how to run the power tools.
